On November 2, 2025, at approximately 1:10 a.m., a Chilliwack RCMP officer activated her emergency button after being involved in a serious two vehicle collision on Vedder Road, just north of Stevenson Road.

The officer was travelling northbound in a fully marked 2021 Ford Explorer police vehicle when a southbound 2006 Lincoln Zephyr crossed into the northbound lanes and collided head on with the police vehicle.

Witness statements taken at the scene suggest that speed and erratic driving by the Lincoln driver were contributing factors. Alcohol has been ruled out as a factor in the collision.

The RCMP officer remains in hospital in stable condition. The driver of the Lincoln, a 29 year old male from Chilliwack, was treated for minor injuries and released.

The collision remains under investigation. No charges have been laid at this time.
