Powell River RCMP respond to theft of generators

On September 14, 2025, at approximately 6:42 p.m. Powell River RCMP received a report of two stolen generators from the City of Powell River.  The red suitcase sized Honda generators were chained to streetlights and being used to run the intersection lights during the power outage on that day.  One of the generators was stolen from the intersection of Marine and Alberni Street and the was stolen from Wharf Street.  The stolen generators have a City of Powell River sticker on them.

Powell River RCMP arrest suspect in break and enter

 

On September 15, 2025, at approximately 7:07 a.m. Powell River RCMP responded to a report of a break and enter at the worksite office at Edgehill School.  A suspect was seen leaving the office, and a good description was provided to police.  Police attended right away, but the suspect had left the area.  He was located a short time later in the 4900 block of Joyce Avenue and was arrested for break and enter.  The suspect, a 49-year-old male from Powell River has been charged with break and enter and will attend court at a later date.  Some of the stolen property was recovered and returned to the owners.
