Steinbach RCMP respond to a disturbance at school in southeastern Manitoba

On September 10, 2025, at 11:45 am, a school in the Hanover School Division requested the immediate assistance of police.
It was reported that the school was in lockdown as a parent was causing a disturbance by shouting, uttering threats, and throwing punches towards staff members.
Steinbach RCMP immediately attended and arrested an adult male who was still roaming the school.
Following the arrest, the 43-year-old male suspect threatened to harm and fight police.
He has been charged with:
- Assault
- Uttering threats x 4
The male was remanded into custody on September 11, 2025, and released the next day with court-imposed conditions.
As a parent was involved in this incident, the RCMP is not releasing the name of the suspect nor of the school.
Steinbach RCMP continue to investigate.
