Selkirk RCMP arrest male after spree of mischief to red vehicles

On October 18, 2025, at 9:30 am, Selkirk RCMP received multiple reports of tires being slashed around Selkirk.

Police responded immediately and observed many red vehicles with puncture wounds in a parking lot on Jemima Street. Witnesses indicated that a male was observed using a knife to slash tires.

At 5:45 pm, Selkirk RCMP located the male responsible for the damage and he was arrested without incident.

A total of 45 tires were slashed on 23 vehicles.

Steven Holowachuk, 44, from Winnipeg, has been remanded in custody. He was charged with 23 mischief offences and one charge of possession of weapon dangerous to the public.

The Selkirk RCMP is asking anyone that was a victim of a similar incident over the weekend in Selkirk to make a report by calling 204-482-3322.

Selkirk RCMP continue to investigate.
