Update: Selkirk RCMP respond to a vehicle-pedestrian collision

On October 22, 2025, the 17-year-old male that was injured in the collision in Selkirk on October 15, has succumbed to his injuries.

Follow-up investigation has determined that the two young males were walking east along the edge of the road when the collision occurred.

The RCMP expresses their condolences to the family and friends of the victim.

The Selkirk RCMP, along with a Forensic Collision Reconstructionist, continue to investigate.

On October 15, 2025, at 9:30 pm, Selkirk RCMP responded to a collision involving a pedestrian on Manitoba Avenue, just west of Highway 9A, in Selkirk.

Officers immediately attended and determined that two young males were walking east in the middle of the road when one of them was struck by a vehicle, also travelling east. One of the males was seen laying in the south ditch.

The 17-year-old victim, from the Rural Municipality of St Andrews, was transported to hospital via STARS in critical condition with serious injuries. The other pedestrian was not injured.

The driver of the vehicle, a 27-year-old male from the Rural Municipality of St Andrews, was not injured.

Selkirk RCMP, along with a Forensic Collision Reconstructionist, continue to investigate.
