A 46-year-old man from Moncton, N.B., has been charged in connection with an incident in Moncton.
On October 29, 2025, at approximately 6:12 p.m., members of the Codiac Regional RCMP responded to a report of a man who was armed with an edged weapon making threats to bystanders at a parking lot on Mountain Road, in Moncton. The man fled the scene before police arrived.
Codiac members quickly located the individual walking near the intersection of Mountain Road and Maplehurst Road. Members discharged their conductive energy weapon (taser) after the individual aggressively approached the members. Police arrested the individual without incident.
On October 29, 46-year-old Christopher Jones of Moncton appeared in Moncton Provincial Court and was charged with possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
He was released from custody and is scheduled to return to court on November 13, 2025.
