RCMP Federal Policing — Eastern Region announces that two individuals have been arrested and charged in connection with unlawful possession of firearms. Daniel Humberto Perez Ochoa, 36, of Montréal, and Nabil Ammar, 35, of Repentigny, are charged with two counts of possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm with ammunition under section 95 of the Criminal Code. Estrie Integrated Border Enforcement Team patrollers arrested the two individuals in Stanstead, late June 10, after spotting one of them crossing the border into Canada illegally.

During the arrest, police seized two loaded semi-automatic handguns, four magazines, and $2,080 in American currency. The accused had an initial court appearance by videoconference at the Sherbrooke courthouse on June 11, 2025, and will appear again this afternoon. The investigation is ongoing.
