RCMP Federal Policing — Eastern Region announces the arrest and laying of charges against an individual intercepted with 13 kg of suspected cocaine in his possession. Jequar Patrick Campbell-Chambers, 27, of Hamilton, Ont., was arrested after fleeing while being stopped at the Coburn Gore border crossing in Maine. The man was located several hours later by police in Saint-Augustin-de-Woburn, Que. The operation was carried out jointly by the Beauce Integrated Border Enforcement Team and the Sûreté du Québec, after a report from U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP).

Campbell-Chambers faces four charges, including possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking and exporting cocaine. He is scheduled to appear this afternoon at the Lac-Mégantic courthouse by videoconference.
