On October 30, 2025, Clarenville RCMP responded to reports of a crashed all-terrain vehicle (ATV) and detained a 40-year-old female driver for impaired operation.

At approximately 9:00 pm on Thursday, police responded to multiple reports from the public of a crashed ATV on Gregory Place in Clarenville. Paramedics were attending to the female driver of the ATV when police arrived, and first responders noticed signs of impairment.

The driver was transported to The Dr. G.B. Cross Memorial Hospital in Clarenville for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries sustained during the crash. Police provided the woman with a blood demand and are awaiting results to confirm impairment.

The woman was released from custody as police await the blood demand results to determine if impaired operation charges are appropriate.

Impaired operation of any motor vehicle, including off-road and all-terrain vehicles, is a choice that unnecessarily places the driver and others at an increased, and unacceptable, level of risk. If you suspect an individual is driving while impaired, please immediately call your local police or 911 to make a report.

RCMP Newfoundland and Labrador thanks the public for continuing to report instances of suspected impaired operation to police.
