Yesterday, the Province of Nova Scotia committed to public safety improvements following a policing review.

Every day, Nova Scotia RCMP employees work to prevent and investigate crime, protect national security, offer vital operational assistance to partner agencies, and support those we serve across the province.

I’m very pleased with the Department of Justice’s announcements, its move to respond to what it heard from Nova Scotians through the provincial policing review and the changes to improve our province’s policing model.

I truly believe these are steps forward that will better serve Nova Scotians and strengthen public safety.

We’re committed to continuing to serve our communities and the prospect of expanding our service as the provincial police. I know we will do so with the highest levels of professionalism and pride.

We look forward to working together with the Department of Justice, municipalities and communities across the province, policing partners, and Nova Scotians to shape the future of policing and public safety.
