RCMP Halifax Regional Detachment is investigating a fatal motorcycle collision that occurred in Lucasville.

On September 17, at approximately 7:41 p.m., RCMP Halifax Regional Detachment, EHS and fire services, responded to a report of a collision involving a motorcycle and a truck at the intersection of Waterstone Run and Lucasville Rd.

Responding officers learned the motorcycle, which was travelling on Waterstone Run at Lucasville Rd. and a pickup truck heading westbound on Lucasville Rd. collided.  Witnesses and other emergency responders attempted life-saving measures, but the driver of the motorcycle, a 35-year-old man from Lucasville, was pronounced deceased at the scene.  The driver of the pickup truck, a 67-year-old man from Hammonds Plains, was not injured.

An RCMP collision reconstructionist attended and the Lucasville Rd. and Waterstone Run intersection was closed for several hours.  It reopened shortly after midnight.  The investigation is ongoing.

Our thoughts are with the victim’s loved ones at this difficult time.
