The Nova Scotia RCMP has appointed Superintendent Mike Ingles as Officer-in-Charge (OIC) of the Northeast Nova district.

"It’s an honour to serve as the OIC of Northeast Nova," says Supt. Ingles. "I look forward to serving our communities and strengthening our relationships with community leaders. My goal is to enhance the safety of our citizens across the region and ensure that our detachments meet the expectations of local residents."

Supt. Ingles has been the acting OIC for Northeast Nova since 2024, overseeing all RCMP operations in the area.

Supt. Ingles’ first position in Nova Scotia was as Operations Officer for Northeast Nova in 2021. He brought with him experience and knowledge gained from roles across the country, including in criminal operations, traffic services, and detachment policing in British Columbia, as well as in the National Labour Relations Program.

“Living in and serving Nova Scotia as the Officer-in-Charge of Northeast Nova is like a dream come true,” he said.

Supt. Ingles resides in Antigonish with his wife, and their two adult children also live in Nova Scotia.
