Digby RCMP is investigating after a vehicle left the road and hit a house.

On November 3 at approximately 11:00 p.m., Digby RCMP officers attended a report of a vehicle that hit a parked car and a house on Carleton St. When officers arrived, they learned that the driver had attempted to leave on foot and was stopped by neighbours who witnessed the crash.

There were no injuries reported by the driver and lone occupant of the car or people inside the house.

The driver, a 22-year-old man from Southville, Digby County, was showing signs of impairment. Officers arrested the driver and issued a breath demand as part of the impaired driving investigation. He was transported to the Digby RCMP Detachment and later released pending an upcoming court appearance. He will face charges of Impaired Operation of a Conveyance and Refusal to Comply with Demand.

Road safety is a shared responsibility. If you suspect an impaired driver, it's an emergency - call 911.
