Iqaluit RCMP execute search warrant in drug trafficking investigation

On June 28, 2025, the Iqaluit RCMP’s, General Investigation Section (GIS), executed a search warrant at a residence in the Tundra Ridge area of Iqaluit, Nunavut. Police seized cocaine, crack cocaine and cash.

Police have charged, Murray McLaughlin (age 53) with:

  • Two counts of Possessing a substance for the purpose of Trafficking, contrary to Section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.
  • Possession of Property obtained by crime, contrary to Section 354(1)(a) of the Criminal Code of Canada.

McLaughlin was released from custody and his next court appearance is scheduled for August 11, 2025, in Iqaluit, Nunavut

Nunavut RCMP is committed to disrupt drug trafficking operations and targeting the proceeds of crime that fuel further criminal activity.
