Iqaluit RCMP assisting with residential structure fire investigation

On Saturday, August 23, 2025, at approximately 7:00 p.m., the Iqaluit RCMP received a complaint of a structure fire located at building 4065. The Iqaluit Fire Department arrived on scene and were able to extinguish the fire which had engulfed two units, preventing it from spreading to adjacent units. Occupants from all 6 units within the complex were evacuated safely, and no injuries have been reported.

The Iqaluit Fire Department with support from the Nunavut Fire Marshal’s Office as well as the Iqaluit RCMP, are working to investigate the cause of the fire.

Iqaluit RMP are asking if anyone has any information related to this incident to contact them at 867-979-0123.
