NT RCMP arrests wanted Tristan Mercredi

The Northwest Territories RCMP apprehended Tristan Mercredi on Monday, August 18th, the last suspect still at large in a case of an armed home invasion that occurred in Fort Smith on May 5th.
At approximately 10:50 a.m., the Territorial Crime Reduction Unit, along with Yellowknife RCMP, the General Investigation Section, Police Dog Services and the Emergency Response Team arrested 25-year-old Tristan Mercredi without incident at the Super 8 in Yellowknife.
Mercredi was wanted on an active warrant for an armed home invasion in Fort Smith on May 5th. He was the last suspect to be apprehended. On May 8th, Lance Heron was arrested in Fort Smith, while Deonne Bourke turned himself in on May 12th.
On May 5th, Fort Smith RCMP received a report that 3 men had broken into a home on St. Ann Street in Fort Smith and threatened to shoot the occupant approximately 2 hours prior to the call. A gun was reported to have been brandished by one of the suspects during the incident. No one was injured during this incident.
Tristan Mercredi is facing these charges:
• Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, contrary to section 88(1) of the Criminal Code
• Carrying a concealed weapon, contrary to section 90(1) of the Criminal code
• Possession of a firearm while knowing possession is unauthorized, contrary to section 92(1) of the Criminal code
• Possession of a weapon contrary to a weapons prohibition order, contrary to section 117.01(1) of the Criminal Code
• Three counts of Failure to comply with a probation order, contrary to section 733.1(1) of the Criminal Code
• Breaking and Entering with intent, contrary to section 348(1)(a) of the Criminal Code
• Using a firearm in the commission of an offence, contrary to section 85(1)(a) of the Criminal Code
• Two counts of Uttering threats, contrary to section 264.1(1)(a) of the Criminal Code
• Mischief under $5000, contrary to section 430(4) of the Criminal Code
• Intimidation, contrary to section 423(1) of the Criminal Code
• Failure to comply with undertaking, contrary to section 145(4)(a) of the Criminal Code
The suspect has been remanded in custody and will appear before a Justice of the Peace.
