Remains of missing Fort Resolution boater recovered

The body of a boater reported missing in Fort Resolution on September 3rd was recovered on Sunday.

On September 14th, Fort Resolution RCMP were notified that human remains had been recovered on the shore of Moose and Deer Island. The remains were returned to the community and confirmed to be those of the missing 35-year-old boater.

The Coroner’s Service has been engaged and is investigating.

The RCMP extends condolences to the family of the deceased. We thank the local fire department and community members whose continued efforts brought closure to this matter.
