ARRESTED: La Ronge RCMP asking public to report sightings of John Sanderson

La Ronge RCMP arrested John Sanderson on the evening of September 14, 2025. He appeared in La Ronge Provincial Court on September 15, 2025.

On September 7, 2025, La Ronge RCMP received a report of a male with a firearm on Chief James Robert Drive.
Officers responded immediately. Investigation determined an interaction occurred between two males and a female inside a residence. One of the males pointed a firearm at the female. The firearm was not discharged. The males left the residence; one left on an SUV and one left on an ATV. No physical injuries were reported to police.
As a result of investigation, 37-year-old John Sanderson from La Ronge is charged with:
- one count, pointing a firearm, Section 87(1), Criminal Code;
- one count, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, Section 88(1), Criminal Code;
- one count, unauthorized possession of a firearm, Section 91(1), Criminal Code; and
- two counts, weapons possession contrary to order, Section 117.01(1), Criminal Code.
A warrant has been issued for John Sanderson’s arrest. La Ronge RCMP continue work to locate John Sanderson and ask members of the public to report sightings and information on his whereabouts.
John Sanderson, who commonly goes by the name ‘Stinker’, is described as:
- Height: 5’9”
- Weight: 170 lbs
- Eye colour: brown
- Hair colour and style: black
- Other descriptors: multiple tattoos on his face and neck
