Weyburn RCMP has identified the vehicle and its driver, who is a youth.
To be mindful of the Youth Criminal Justice Act and because charges have not been formally been laid, we are unable to provide identifying details of the youth.
The investigation continues.
Weyburn RCMP do not believe there is any public safety concern associated with this incident, nor do investigators believe there is any connection to the September 12 suspicious death in the Weyburn area.

On September 13, 2025, at approximately 10:40 p.m., Weyburn RCMP received a report of a potential impersonation of a police officer.
Investigation determined an individual was driving on a grid road near Midale. A vehicle came up behind them displaying flashing blue and red emergency lights. Both vehicles slowed, then the vehicle with blue and red lights fled.
The vehicle is described as a granite grey heavy-duty truck with a flat deck and heavy duty rack. It’s believed to be a 2000s-model Chevrolet. The red and blue lights were mounted near the rearview mirror in the front windshield.
The investigation continues.
Weyburn RCMP ask anyone who believes they are being followed by an imitation police vehicle to contact RCMP immediately.

Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes remains in the Weyburn area investigating the suspicious death that occurred on September 12. Investigators are aware of the potential police impersonation incident, however there is no known link to the suspicious death at this time.
