Kamsack RCMP charge youth after serious assault

On October 26, 2025, at approximately 2:45 a.m., Kamsack RCMP received a report that an injured person had been located on the Keeseekoose First Nation. Officers immediately responded and located an adult female, who was taken to the hospital with injuries described as serious in nature. Investigation determined she’d been assaulted; Kamsack RCMP arrested a teenaged boy at a residence in the community shortly after.
As a result of continued investigation, the youth is charged with:
- one count, attempted murder, Section 239, Criminal Code;
- one count, aggravated assault, Section 268, Criminal Code; and
- one count, assault with a weapon, Section 267(a), Criminal Code.
We are not releasing the boy’s name or specific age as it may identify him, which is prohibited under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
He has been remanded into custody until his next appearance in Yorkton Provincial Court on October 30, 2025.
