Saskatchewan RCMP arrest man after assault in Uranium City

On October 11, 2025, at approximately 6:30 p.m., Fond du Lac RCMP received reports of an altercation between two adult males in Uranium City. Investigation determined one male assaulted the other, threatened him with a firearm, then fled.

The victim reported non-life-threatening injuries to police.

Officers made certain the victim was in a safe location, that the suspect no longer had access to the involved firearm, and there was no known elevated risk to public safety associated with the incident.

Fond du Lac RCMP and Saskatchewan RCMP’s Critical Incident Response Team travelled to Fond du Lac the following morning with the assistance of Saskatchewan RCMP Air Services and immediately attempted to locate the adult male. Investigation determined he was at a residence in Uranium City. Officers attended the residence and arrested him without incident.

As a result of investigation 29-year-old Maxwell Larocque of Uranium City, SK is charged with:

  • one count, pointing a firearm, Section 81(1), Criminal Code;
  • one count, carrying a firearm for a dangerous purpose, Section 88(1), Criminal Code;
  • one count, uttering threats to cause harm to a person, Section 264.1(1)(a), Criminal Code;
  • one count, uttering threats to cause harm to a person’s animal, Section 264.1(1)(c), Criminal Code;
  • one count, fail to comply with a release order, Section 145(5)(a), Criminal Code;
  • one count, assault causing bodily harm, Section 267(b), Criminal Code;
  • one count, careless use of a firearm, Section 86(1), Criminal Code; and
  • one count, unauthorized possession of a firearm, Section 91(1), Criminal Code.

He was also arrested on an outstanding warrant from Black Lake RCMP.

Maxwell Laroque is scheduled to appearance next in Black Lake Provincial Court at 10:00 a.m. on November 4, 2025. (Information #90538342).
