Whitehorse RCMP, including other Yukon RCMP units, are investigating a report of a child abduction that occurred in the Porter Creek subdivision area.
On July 20, 2025 at 9:53 pm Whitehorse RCMP received a report from the parents of a 9-year-old girl that she had not returned home as expected. Whitehorse RCMP launched a missing person investigation and resources immediately attended to the Porter Creek subdivision where the girl was last seen.
The investigation unfolded very quickly, door to door inquiries began immediately and the Police Service Dog was deployed. As the investigation was underway, the child returned home approximately an hour after she was last seen.
In addition to Whitehorse Detachment officers, Specialized Response Unit and Major Crime Unit have been assigned to the investigation and are seeking any witnesses, video footage, both home security cameras and dash camera footage for the Porter Creek subdivision area between the hours of 8:00 pm and 11:30 pm.
When we are able, more details will be provided.
