Purpose and role of the Mission Crime Prevention Office (CPO)

The Mission Crime Prevention Office (CPO) strives to embrace proactive prevention strategies and programs along with problem solving initiatives. We continue to work with the downtown Business Association, Block Captains and other clients that have issues in their areas. We work to provide contacts and referrals and explore options for resolutions. We have a close relationship with the Mission RCMP which allows us to monitor crime trends that can be shared with the public and these crime trends also assist us in our crime prevention strategies. There is one full time District of Mission Employee that serves as the Crime Prevention Coordinator, who oversees the delivery of the various crime prevention programs and supports the terrific volunteers that work in the various crime prevention programs.

It should be noted that the Mission Crime Prevention Office is not a Community Police Office, and therefore, there is no uniformed member present on site.
