Charges laid in the case of missing 30-year-old woman

A 31-year-old man has been charged with second-degree murder and indignity to human remains in relation to the homicide of Chantelle Moore, who was last seen in late October of 2024.

Background

On November 18, 2024, the family of 30-year-old Chantelle Moore reported her missing to the Surrey RCMP after not hearing from her for an extended period of time. As a result of a robust investigation led by the Surrey RCMP and Langley RCMP, investigators determined that Ms. Moore was last seen at a hotel in Langley and that no one had heard from her since late October.

On December 11, 2024, the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) assumed conduct of the investigation based on information received that suggested Ms. Moore’s disappearance to be suspicious and that criminality was suspected.

IHIT investigators worked in close partnership with the Langley RCMP Serious Crime Unit and the Integrated Forensic Identification Services (IFIS) to establish a timeline of events leading up to Ms. Moore’s disappearance.

Based on evidence gathered and information learned, investigators, with assistance from the BCRCMP Tac Troop, executed searches at multiple locations across the province in attempts to locate Ms. Moore’s remains.

Update

As the result of a coordinated and strategic investigation, homicide investigators met the charge assessment standard for murder.

On October 31, 2025, IHIT investigators arrested 31-year-old Trenton Henneberg of Port Moody for the homicide of Chantelle Moore. The BC Prosecution Service approved one count of second-degree murder and one count of indignity to human remains against Mr. Henneberg, who remains in custody.

Investigators believe Mr. Henneberg and Ms. Moore were known to each other, and this was not a random incident.

“This is the kind of investigation that keeps us up at night,” says Sgt. Freda Fong of IHIT. “I am so proud of the unwavering dedication and tremendous investigative efforts of our team.”

“While the laying of charges is a significant milestone, there is still a lot of work ahead as the prosecution process begins. It has been an extremely difficult time for Chantelle’s parents, and we continue to offer them support throughout the court proceedings.”
