The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) is identifying the victim of a targeted shooting on Ridgeview Drive to advance its investigation.
Background:
On October 27, 2025, at approximately 9:22 a.m., Abbotsford Police Department (AbbyPD) responded to a report of a shooting in the 31300-block of Ridgeview Drive. Responding officers located a man suffering from life-threatening injuries. Despite lifesaving measures, the man died at the scene.
IHIT has taken conduct of this investigation and continues to work in partnership with AbbyPD, the BC Coroners Service and Forensic Identification Services (FIS).
Update:
IHIT is identifying the victim as 68-year-old Darshan Sahsi of Abbotsford in hopes of advancing the investigation. Early indications suggest this was a targeted incident and no one else was injured as a result of the shooting.
Investigators are working diligently to determine the motive and the circumstances surrounding the shooting. Homicide investigators are releasing the following CCTV image of a silver Toyota Corolla involved in the homicide and are asking for the public’s help in identifying the occupant.
“You can expect investigators in the area canvassing for witnesses and processing the crime scene,” says Sgt. Freda Fong of IHIT. “As we continue to build a timeline of events, it is important for anyone with information to contact IHIT immediately.”
IHIT is seeking dashcam footage from anyone who was in the area of the 31300-block of Ridgeview Drive on October 27, 2025, between 7:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m.
