IHIT File # 2018-631

Background:

On April 30, 2018, at approximately 2:30 p.m., Ridge Meadows RCMP received a report of a found body located in Pitt Meadows. Upon attendance, police located a deceased male who was later identified as 43-year-old Ian Roberts of Delta.

Earlier that day, at approximately 6:00 a.m., Langley RCMP recovered a red 1996 GMC Jimmy associated to Mr. Roberts.

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) assumed conduct of the investigation and continued to work in collaboration with policing partners in Ridge Meadows, Langley, Surrey, and Delta to advance this case.

Update:

Over the past eight years, IHIT investigators were relentless in their pursuit to piece together the circumstances surrounding the murder. By following the evidence trail, investigators identified key information about Mr. Roberts’ cause of death and the scene where the murder allegedly took place.

On June 11, 2026, 45-year-old Miikael Tattoo King (formerly known as Michael Branden Anderson) was charged with one count of first-degree murder and one count of obstruction of justice in relation to the homicide of Mr. Roberts.

Investigators believe this was a targeted incident involving parties who were known to each other.

“This was a lengthy and highly complex investigation that demanded years of dedicated work by investigators who were committed to finding the answers,” says Sgt. Freda Fong of IHIT.

“Through meticulous examination of evidence and persistent pursuit of all available leads, the investigation has now reached a significant milestone with the laying of a first-degree murder charge. We hope this development provides some measure of comfort to the victim’s loved ones as the judicial process moves forward.”

As this matter is now before the courts, no further information will be released.
