Police seeking to identify mischief suspect after rash of EV charging cords cut

West Shore RCMP is currently investigating several reports of mischief over $5000 where numerous EV charging cables were cut and stolen from various EV charging stations in the West Shore resulting in thousands of dollars’ worth of damage.
The charging stations seemed to have been targeted during early morning hours between 12:00 a.m. and approximately 3:00 a.m..
EV charging cords were cut and stolen from:
Location 1: September 30, 2025 - Peninsula Co-op Gas Station located at 4397 West Shore Parkway, Langford.
Location 2: October 3, 2025 – Juan de Fuca Recreation Centre located at 1767 Island Hwy, Colwood.
Location 3: October 4, 2025 - Shell Gas Station located at 2890 West Shore Parkway, Langford.
Location 4: October 4, 2025 – Additional charging cables cut at Juan de Fuca Recreation Centre located at 1767 Island Hwy, Colwood.
Police have collected video surveillance and believe the suspect is driving a light-colored SUV, likely an older model Jeep patriot, licence plate unknown.
The suspect is described as:
- Male with lighter coloured skin;
- Wearing all dark coloured clothing;
