The New Brunswick RCMP’s Major Crime Unit (MCU) is releasing the name of the deceased individual in connection with an ongoing home invasion investigation in Berry Mills, N.B.
On February 6, 2025, at approximately 5:51 a.m., members of the Caledonia Region RCMP responded to a report of a home invasion at a residence on Isaiah Road, in Berry Mills.
Three individuals forcibly gained entry to the residence occupied by a man and a woman, both in their thirties. An altercation occurred, resulting in the fatality of one man. At the time, police were looking for a 2018 Dodge Ram 2500 and a light-coloured Ford F150.
The deceased individual has since been positively identified as 35-year-old Brian Justin Johnson, originally from Halifax, N.S. He died at the scene as a result of his injuries.
Upon further investigation, police are no longer searching for the black 2018 Dodge Ram 2500, and have been able to recover the light-coloured Ford F150, now described as a blue 2011 Ford F150.
If you were travelling in the area between the hours of 4 a.m. and 7 a.m., on February 6, or have dash-cam footage of the blue 2011 Ford F150, or any information related to this investigation, please contact the New Brunswick RCMP at 1-888-506-RCMP.
