100 Mile House RCMP responded to 104 calls for service between April 7, 2026 and April 14, 2026. This is a summary of the highlights.
File# 2026-1089
On April 7, 2026, BC Highway Patrol were conducting enforcement on Highway 97 near Bullock Lake Rd. A vehicle was observed travelling at a high rate of speed which radar confirmed as 169 km/h in a posted 110 km/h zone. The vehicle was stopped where the driver was issued a violation ticket for excessive speed and the vehicle was impounded for 7 days.

On April 8, 2026, Citizens on Patrol were in the area of 93 Mile when they observed a vehicle that they believed was reported stolen on a property on 93 Mile Frontage Rd. Police were called and attended where a Ford F350 truck which was reported on April 7th was located. The truck was towed and the owner was notified.

On April 11, 2026, RCMP received a report of a suspicious fire to a shed on the 6000 block of Mahood Lake Rd. Police attended where a shed was reported to be burned and it is suspected that the fire was a result of an arson. The shed contained recyclables and this is the second incident to have occurred at this location as a previous shed was burned on March 11th. This newest incident was reported to Police by the Deka Lake Fire Dept. at 12:57 AM.

On April 11, 2026, RCMP received a report of a possible impaired driver who had run over a stop sign at Cedar Ave and Horse Lake Rd. Police conducted patrols and located several other signs that had been run over at Blackstock Rd and Forest Ridge Rd. The vehicle was then located on Horse Lake Rd stopped in a lane of travel. A stop sign from one of the locations was observed in the box of the vehicle. The male driver was spoken with where observations of alcohol consumption were made. A breath test was conducted using an approved screening device which resulted in a fail. The adult male was arrested for impaired driving, theft, and mischief. Further breath testing was conducted at the RCMP detachment which resulted in readings over .08. The male was later released to attend court at a future date.

On April 11, 2026, RCMP received a report of a break and enter to a residence located on the 2000 block of Eagle Creek Rd. Police attended where it was determined a chain across the driveway had been cut as well as lock to a shed and damage to an RV which was on the property. A small red Honda dirtbike with the number “8” on the side, electric boat motor, two chainsaws, battery and charger, skill saw, and other tools were taken. It is not known when the incident occurred.

On April 13, 2026, RCMP received a report of a vehicle burned in a gravel pit on the Gustafsen Forest Service Rd. Police attended where the vehicle was found destroyed. Police determined the vehicle was reported stolen from Merritt on November 19th. The vehicle was a black 2017 Hyundai Accent.

On April 14, 2026, RCMP were conducting patrols on Highway 97 near 103 Mile House. A vehicle which was travelling behind the fully marked police vehicle sped up and passed the police vehicle in excess of the posted speed limit. The vehicle was stopped and the driver spoken with where observations of alcohol consumption were made. A breath test was conducted using an approved screening device which resulted in a fail. The driver was issued an immediate roadside prohibition from driving for 90 days and the vehicle was impounded for 30 days. A violation ticket for speeding was also issued.
