IHIT has been called to Burnaby after a shooting which has left one man deceased.

Just before 5:30 p.m., on September 10, 2025, Burnaby RCMP frontline officers responded to multiple reports of shots fired near Still Creek Avenue and Still Creek Drive, in North Burnaby. When police arrived, they located a male victim already deceased.

Approximately 15 minutes later, Burnaby RCMP frontline officers responded to a report of a vehicle fire near Nursery Street and Lakefield Drive, in South Burnaby. Investigators are working to determine any links to the shooting.

Police have secured both scenes and will remain in these areas as the investigation continues.

It is very early in the investigation; however, it is believed this may be a targeted event, and police believe there are no further risks to public safety from this incident.
