Burnaby RCMP’s Strike Force Unit has arrested a 64-year-old man in relation to a bank robbery that occurred last September.

On September 26, 2025, Burnaby RCMP frontline officers responded to a report of a robbery with a weapon at a bank in the Kingsway and Edmonds Street area. The suspect reportedly used a gun in the offence. The suspect had fled the scene prior to police arrival.

After a months-long investigation, on January 14, 2026, with the assistance of the Lower Mainland District Integrated Emergency Response Team (ERT) and Burnaby RCMP’s Prolific Offender Suppression Team (POST), Strike Force Unit executed a search warrant at a residence in South Burnaby.

During the search, police seized two firearms. A 64-year-old man was arrested on scene.
