Burnaby RCMP is asking the public for dashcam video and witnesses after an overnight head-on collision that has tragically resulted in one fatality.
On Monday, February 16, 2026, at 11:00 p.m., Burnaby RCMP frontline officers responded to a report of a two-vehicle collision on Marine Way, just east of Roseberry Avenue. One vehicle was travelling eastbound on Marine Way when another vehicle travelling westbound collided with it head-on.
One man, the driver of the westbound vehicle, has died as a result of the collision. All others involved in the collision were transported to the hospital with serious, non-life-threatening injuries.
Burnaby RCMP’s Criminal Collision Investigation Team (CCIT) has assumed conduct of the investigation.
“While its early in the investigation, speed is believed to be a contributing factor,” said Cpl. Mike Kalanj with the Burnaby RCMP. “Please contact the Burnaby RCMP if you witnessed this collision or have any video that can assist in the investigation.”
Police are asking anyone that may have witnessed the incident and have not yet spoken to police to please come forward. Police are also asking anyone with dashcam video on Marine Way, from Boundary Road to Nelson Avenue, between 10:30 p.m. and 11:30 p.m., on Monday, February 16, to contact the Burnaby RCMP at 604-646-9999 and quote file number 2026-5701.
