The Burnaby RCMP and the City of Coquitlam are inviting commercial vehicle drivers and operators to an upcoming information session focused on commercial vehicle safety on April 20, 2026.

The session is aimed at drivers and companies that operate commercial vehicles, such as box trucks and delivery vehicles, that can be operated with a Class 5 licence. It is not intended for drivers of large transport vehicles and semi trucks, including those with class 1 licences.

The education session will focus on pre-trip inspections, the Commercial Transport Act, truck routes, cargo securement, transporting live loads, vehicle defects, weight regulations and more, with the goal of refreshing commercial vehicle operators and companies on important safety information meant to keep all road users safe.

The session is being hosted in partnership with BC Highway Patrol, Delta Police and WorkSafe BC. Representatives from these agencies will be in attendance to provide information and answer questions.

Drivers and companies operating commercial vehicles requiring Class 5 licences (such as box trucks and delivery vehicles) that are interested in attending are asked to contact Burnaby RCMP to book a spot.
