A lengthy drug trafficking investigation culminated in the search of three properties and related arrests of eight individuals Thursday morning.

On October 30, 2025, the Burns Lake RCMP, with the assistance of the North and Southeast District Emergency Response Teams, RCMP Police Dog Services, and other support units, executed search warrants on three properties subject to a lengthy drug trafficking investigation. Due to the perceived risk to officer safety, the Emergency Response Teams deployed distraction devices during entry into the homes to secure the occupants safely. In total, eight individuals were arrested without incident or injury.

During the course of the search, police seized over 3kg of suspected illicit drugs, multiple firearms, and a significant quantity of cash along with other items consistent with drug trafficking.

“Yesterday, Burns Lake RCMP have successfully removed a significant amount of illicit drugs from circulation in a coordinated operation aimed at disrupting the local trafficking networks,” said Sergeant Anthony Brooks, Operations NCO for the Burns Lake RCMP. “The operation highlights the continued effort and commitment at protecting our communities, reducing harm to individuals, and reinforcing the efforts against this type of illegal drug activity.”

The investigation is ongoing, and no charges have been laid.

If you observe suspicious behaviour or suspected drug trafficking, please contact your local police to report it.
