Campbell River RCMP investigating series of downtown break and enters

Campbell River RCMP is asking for the public's assistance in identifying two suspects believed to be connected to a series of break and enters and attempted break and enters that occurred in downtown Campbell River earlier this week. 

During the early morning hours of July 13 and July 14, 2026, Campbell River RCMP, with assistance from Island District Forensic Identification Services, responded to three break and enters and two attempted break and enters at local businesses. 

Investigators determined the suspects gained entry to three businesses by smashing the front glass doors and windows before entering and stealing merchandise. Items reported stolen include cellular phones, clothing, a hair dryer and baseball bats. 

In two additional incidents, the suspects were unable to gain entry but caused significant damage to the businesses during their attempts. 

As part of the ongoing investigation, police are releasing surveillance images of two individuals believed to be connected to the incidents and are asking anyone who recognizes them to come forward. 

One suspect was observed wearing: 

  • A dark hooded sweatshirt 
  • Dark pants 
  • Dark shoes 

The second suspect was observed wearing: 

  • A light-coloured hooded sweatshirt 
  • Light-coloured sweatpants 
  • Dark footwear 

"These incidents resulted in substantial property damage and losses to local businesses," says Corporal Brett Urano, RCMP spokesperson. "We are asking anyone who recognizes the individuals in the photographs or who has information about these break-ins to contact investigators."
