Chase RCMP investigating fatal collision involving motorcycle on Highway 1

Chase RCMP are investigating a collision on Highway 1 that has claimed the life of a motorcycle rider. 

First responders were called to Highway 1 just west of Chase at approximately 11:19 am on Saturday, June 27, 2026, for reports of a collision between a sedan and a motorcycle.

The motorcycle rider, who was in his early 60s, did not survive his injuries. Nobody else was seriously hurt. 

The driver of the sedan remained on scene and is cooperating with investigators. 

The circumstances of the collision are under investigation.

Chase RCMP investigators are asking any drivers with dashcam video taken between Kamloops and Chase that may show the motorcycle traveling eastbound on Highway 1 prior to the collision to contact investigators.
