Coquitlam RCMP is inviting the public to help Cram the Cruiser on Thursday, June 5, 2025 with the Share Society. Food banks and food hubs welcome support from the community throughout the year, especially in the summer when they observe a decrease in food donations.

We need your help!

Join us to Cram the Cruiser with donations for people in our communities.

Date: Thursday, June 5, 2025
Time: 2 pm to 6 pm
Locations:

  • Coquitlam: Real Canadian Superstore, 1301 Lougheed Highway
  • Port Coquitlam: Safeway, 2850 Shaughnessy Street

"While the need for food donations is often top of mind during the holidays, summer can be an especially challenging time for local food banks," said Media Relations Officer Acting Sergeant John Graham. "Through the Cram the Cruiser event, we’re inviting the community to come together and help ensure no family goes hungry this summer. Every box, can, or bag of food makes a difference."

"With the rising cost of living, more families in our community are being pushed to the edge, forced to make impossible choices between rent, food, and other essentials. Without access to school breakfast and lunch programs, the summer months can be even more challenging for families in need," said Claire MacLean, CEO of Share Family and Community Services. "Currently one in three of SHARE’s Food Bank clients are under the age of 18, making community support more important than ever. By donating at the RCMP’s Cram the Cruiser event, you are helping plant the seeds for a stronger future. Every donation brings us closer to a community where all families can grow, thrive, and live their possibilities."

If community members wish to donate and are looking for specific ideas for donations, some of the items in greatest need are:

  • Canned Tomatoes - Diced, Paste, Sauce
  • Canned Vegetables - Corn & Mushrooms
  • Canned Meat - Tuna, Salmon, Chili, Stews
  • Canned Fruit
  • Breakfast Cereal (High Protein)
  • Rice & Pasta
  • Cooking Oil (1L)
  • Kids Large-sized Diapers (Sizes 4, 5, 6)
  • Baby Items (Good Start Formula Stage 1, Baby Food for 6 to 24 months old)
  • Menstrual & Incontinence Pads

We will also be accepting grocery gift cards and cash donations. Donate to Share | Share Family & Community Services
