Coquitlam RCMP responding to a mudslide

This communication contains preliminary information that is subject to change based on the continuing investigation. 

On March 19, 2026 at approximately 5:36 a.m., Coquitlam RCMP and Coquitlam Fire and Rescue Services responded to a report of a mudslide in the 1900 block of Pipeline Road, north of the Upper Coquitlam River Park in Coquitlam.

As a result, Pipeline Road has been closed to northbound traffic near the Coquitlam Water Treatment Plant. The public is asked to please stay clear of the area. 

Coquitlam RCMP is working with Coquitlam Fire and Rescue Services, BC Hydro, along with Coquitlam Search and Rescue and Coquitlam City staff to assess the situation.
