Coquitlam RCMP’s Cops for Cancer riders invite you to our Cuffed for a Cure event on May 6, 2026 at Coquitlam Centre.
Cuffed for a Cure is a family‑friendly fundraiser supporting childhood cancer research and Camp Goodtimes.
How to join the fun:
- Get “cuffed” for the cure: A Coquitlam RCMP officer will come to you (within Coquitlam or Port Coquitlam) for a playful, make‑believe arrest. You get to choose the reason of your choice. Too awesome? Ate the last scoop of ice cream?
- Visit us at Coquitlam Centre Mall (10 a.m. to 6 p.m.): Get "cuffed" and “locked up” in our colourful jail, have your “mugshot” taken, and say hello to Coquitlam RCMP officers and Cops for Cancer riders.
“Taking on cancer takes a community,” said Corporal Alexandre Lanthier with Coquitlam RCMP. “We’re excited to host Cuffed for a Cure and help raise funds for kids and families affected by cancer.”
All donations go directly to the Canadian Cancer Society, Cops for Cancer.
Want to be “arrested”?
Sign up to be cuffed at your chosen location on May 6, snap photos, and rally friends and family to donate toward your “bail.” Then meet us at Coquitlam Centre and stay locked up until you’re happy with the funds raised.
Book your arrest: tessieland@me.com or Coquitlam_Media@rcmp-grc.gc.ca
Spaces are limited, requests must be received prior to May 5, 2026.
Event details:
- Wednesday, May 6, 2026
- 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 PM
- Coquitlam Centre, 2929 Barnet Highway, Coquitlam (find us on Level 1 at Centre Court)
This year’s Coquitlam riders are Corporal Alexandre Lanthier, Constable Jason Davies and retired Sergeant Tess Landry.
Donate to support the Coquitlam RCMP Cops for Cancer team.
Cops for Cancer began in 1997 with one police officer’s desire to make a difference and has since grown into a nationwide movement supporting children with cancer. Cops for Cancer–Tour de Coast is an annual eight‑day cycling event along the BC coast, starting September 11, 2026, with police and emergency personnel riding in support of affected children and families. Funds raised support the Canadian Cancer Society’s childhood cancer research and help send 600 children each year to Camp Goodtimes, a medically supervised camp for kids and teens with cancer and their families.
