A drug trafficking investigation has led to two arrests, a search warrant, and a seizure of drugs and drug paraphernalia.

On July 31, 2025, a Fort St John RCMP Street Enforcement Team (SET) drug trafficking investigation culminated with a search warrant for a residence on 103 Avenue in Fort St John, BC. The investigation followed the arrest of two individuals who had allegedly been selling drugs within the community.

With the search warrant, police discovered a tablet manufacturing operation inside the residence. Police also located and seized large amounts of drugs, two firearms, pill presses and precursor chemicals used in the production of illicit drugs.

Sgt Ian Rissanen of the Plain Clothes Unit commented, “successfully targeting this drug trafficking group was a high priority for our unit and we are committed to continuing to target drug trafficking in the community. The discovery of the tablet manufacturing operation is very concerning because some tablets located were pressed to appear as legitimate pharmaceutical medications”.

Sgt Rissanen also commended the Street Enforcement Team saying, "because of SET's hard work and dedication, we should see a major disruption in the illicit drug trade in our city".

The 42-year-old man and 49-year-old man who were arrested were subsequently released from custody pending charge approval by the Public Prosecution Service of Canada.

The public is urged to report suspected drug trafficking activity to their local police.
