No injuries in early morning report of shots fired

On Friday, October 24, 2025, at 5:30 am, Fort St John RCMP receive a report of shots fired.

Police immediately attended the 9600 Block of 96th Avenue in the city. Evidence quickly located in keeping with gun fire and through an investigation, police learned that there had been an exchange of gun fire at a residence in the area.

Police entered the home in question to ensure the safety of anyone in the residence. The four people inside were uninjured and subsequently arrested for weapons related offences.

Police noted firearms and firearm paraphernalia were seen inside the home. The RCMP will remain in the area to conduct a further investigation.

The quick police response the Street Enforcement Team (SET), may have prevented this from being much worse. SET continues to focus enforcement targeting known drug dealers and gang members in Fort St. John.

Police believe this to be a targeted shooting related to gang-activity & drug trade in the city.
