Hope RCMP received multiple reports of a suspected impaired driver operating a vehicle in the Hope area. Officers located the vehicle and attempted a traffic stop, however, the driver fled at a high rate of speed. Further information later led officers to a residence on St Elmo Road, where a man matching the driver’s description was located and arrested with the assistance of the Police Service Dog. Following the investigation, the vehicle was impounded, and the man was issued an Immediate Roadside Prohibition for impaired driving.

Officers observed a vehicle near a convenience store in Hope during the early morning hours and conducted a roadside stop. The driver exhibited signs of impairment. During the interaction, officers observed, in plain view, items consistent with drug trafficking inside the vehicle. The driver was arrested, and a subsequent search located trafficking‑quantity amounts of suspected illicit substances and drug paraphernalia. The driver was issued an Immediate Roadside Prohibition, and the vehicle was towed.

Officers attended a report of a Break and Enter at a Gas Station in Boston Bar. Damage was observed at the building and several items were taken. The investigation is ongoing

Police received a report of a vehicle break‑in on the Uztlius Creek Forest Service Road near Boston Bar. The vehicle sustained damage, and items were stolen.

There have been several recent reports of thefts from vehicles in the Boston Bar area.

Hope RCMP also received multiple reports this past week of thefts from vehicles and the theft of licence plates in the Hope area. In addition, a stolen vehicle was reported on Old Yale Road, where the keys had been left inside.

Police remind the public to always lock their vehicles and avoid leaving valuables — including keys — inside, regardless of how brief the time away from the vehicle may be.
