April 26 – Recovered stolen vehicle

A vehicle owner reported that their truck had broken down on Highway 1 near the Flood Falls exit and was stolen a short time later while they were waiting for a tow truck. The truck was located nearby in an encampment off Highway 1. A possible suspect in the theft was identified but fled the area when police arrived, likely due to an outstanding arrest warrant. Items associated with the stolen truck were found in the encampment inside a sedan bearing stolen licence plates. The sedan is believed to belong to another individual who also has outstanding warrants and was not located. The sedan was impounded, and the truck was seized for further investigation.

April 26 - Single motor vehicle collision

Police responded to assist a motorist who swerved off Highway 1 near Hope while attempting to avoid deer. The vehicle went into a ditch and became stuck against a rock face on the side of the highway. The driver and occupants were fortunately uninjured. The vehicle was removed from the ditch with the assistance of a tow truck.

April 26 - Immediate Roadside Prohibition

While conducting roadside sobriety checks, an officer observed a vehicle leaving a restaurant near Flood Hope Road and initiated a traffic stop. The driver admitted to recently consuming alcohol. Roadside screening confirmed impairment, and an Immediate Roadside Prohibition was issued. The vehicle was towed.

April 25 -  Fight in park

A security company reported two men fighting at Memorial Park. Officers attended and observed two men matching the description hugging and being friendly with one another.  Both individuals were identified and found to be heavily intoxicated. One man was transported to the hospital due to his level of intoxication. The second man became aggressive toward police and was arrested and held in custody until sober and calm. He had facial injuries but declined to explain how they occurred. He was treated by ambulance at the scene and did not suffer serious injuries. Upon release, he was issued provincial violation tickets for fighting in a public place and being intoxicated in a public place.

April 26 - Stolen vehicle

A woman reported that her vehicle had been stolen overnight while parked at a local convenience store. She believes she may have left her keys and personal belongings inside the vehicle. The vehicle has not yet been located.

April 25 - Mischief to vehicle

Police received a report that a man had allegedly smashed the windshield of a delivery truck on Old Hope Princeton Way. The complainant stated the suspect had been driving behind him, rear‑ended his truck after he pulled over, then approached and damaged the windshield. No injuries were caused. The suspect was located shortly afterward in Hope, arrested, and is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.

April 21-  Flight from police

An officer attempted a roadside stop of a sport motorcycle in Hope. The rider failed to stop and fled, disobeying a stop sign in the process. The officer disengaged for safety reasons. The motorcycle was later found to be displaying a licence plate stolen nearly a year ago from another jurisdiction. The same motorcycle had also previously failed to stop for police during a separate roadside stop attempt within the past month. Police continue to investigate; however the rider was wearing a helmet which prevented the officer from identifying them.
