Break and enter - Stolen vehicle

Police received a report of a break and enter at an abandoned business in Yale after a concerned citizen observed suspicious activity. Upon contacting the property owner, it was confirmed that a vehicle had also been stolen from the location. The investigation is ongoing.

Motor vehicle collision

An officer was flagged down regarding a collision on Water Avenue. The officer attended and learned the collision involved two vehicles at an intersection. One of the drivers sustained injuries and was transported to hospital for treatment. Impairment is not believed to be a factor and the collision appears to have been caused by driver error.

Vehicle fire

Hope RCMP responded to multiple reports of a vehicle fully engulfed in flames on Highway 5. The vehicle had begun smoking while in motion and caught fire after the driver safely pulled over to the side of the road. All occupants exited safely without injury. The fire was extinguished and the vehicle was towed.

Impaired driving

While conducting proactive patrols on 6th Avenue, an officer observed a vehicle swerving and unable to maintain its lane. A traffic stop was initiated, and the driver showed signs of impairment. Roadside testing confirmed impairment, resulting in an Immediate Roadside Prohibition and vehicle impoundment.

E-Scooter collision

A child riding an e-scooter collided with a vehicle and sustained non-life-threatening injuries. The child was transported to hospital for treatment. The investigation determined that the driver of the vehicle was not at fault. This incident highlights the risks associated with e-scooter use and serves as a reminder for the public to remain vigilant when operating or sharing the roadway with E-Scooters.

Theft and fraud

A camper in Manning Park reported a wallet and camping gear stolen from their vehicle. The stolen bank cards were later used at multiple locations in a neighbouring jurisdiction. Police are actively working to identify those responsible.

Impaired Driving

During proactive traffic enforcement on Kawkawa Lake Road, an officer stopped a driver who failed to stop at a stop sign shortly before lunchtime. Signs of impairment were observed by the officer, and roadside testing confirmed the driver’s impairment. An Immediate Roadside Prohibition was issued and the vehicle was impounded.
