BC RCMP Southeast District Major Crime Unit is investigating after discovering a deceased man in the Paul Lake area.
On April 25, 2025, as a result of an ongoing investigation into a stolen vehicle, the RCMP arrested three men outside of Kamloops for possession of stolen property and failing to comply with court orders. Unfolding circumstances around this investigation led investigators to locate a deceased man in the Paul Lake area. The BC RCMP Southeast District Major Crime Unit was engaged and assumed conduct of the investigation.
A residence on the North Shore was linked to the arrested men and was secured by the RCMP pending a Judicial Authorization to search.
Subsequent investigation has revealed that the deceased, Dylan Thomas Godfrey, a 43-year-old man, of the Kamloops area, was the victim of foul play.
Investigators believe that Dylan Thomas Godfrey’s death was an isolated event and that no threat to the public exists,
said Staff Sergeant Jason Smart, NCO i/c of the Southeast District MCU.
Investigators are appealing to the public that if they have video, dash camera or other, from Paul Lake Road, the Halston Bridge Connector or the North Shore of Kamloops between April 23, 2025, at 6:00 a.m. to April 25, 2025 at 7:00 a.m. to contact the Southeast District Major Crime Unit Information Line at 1-877-987-8477.
In addition, if anyone had communication with, or dealings with Dylan Thomas Godfrey, from April 14, 2025 and onwards, they are also asked to call the Southeast District Information Line.
