Police respond to downtown structure fire

Kamloops RCMP frontline police responded to assist Kamloops Fire Rescue with an abandoned building on fire.

On January 14, 2026, at approximately 11:15 p.m., Kamloops RCMP attended to the alley of the 400-block of Victoria Street to assist Kamloops Fire Rescue who was on scene working to extinguish the fire.

“At this time Kamloops RCMP is keeping the scene secure until investigators are able to attend to learn more about the cause of the fire,” states Corporal Dana Napier, spokesperson for the Kamloops RCMP Detachment.  “The fire was suppressed preventing the spread to further property damage to other buildings.”
