Kamloops and Tk’emlúps RCMP along with the Crime Reduction Unit have arrested two alleged suspects related to the arsons.

In the afternoon of January 14, 2026, the Crime Reduction Unit located and arrested the two alleged suspects who had previously broken into a Tk’emlups business compound and started a fire. That male is alleged to have also started a fire at a Kamloops business.

Both suspects were held in-custody at the onset. A court hearing will take place later today involving the male alleged to be responsible in both incidents.

Supt. Pelley stated “These crimes were prioritized given the risk to the public. By applying a multi jurisdictional lens to offenders, and with the help of the public we were able to utilize our Crime Reduction Unit to quickly locate and take into custody, the persons we believe responsible, for these reckless acts”
