2022 Kamloops rural homicide fourth anniversary

January 29, 2026, marks the fourth anniversary of the homicide of 18-year-old Jagraj Dhinsa, who was found deceased in a parking lot on Chilcotin Road in Kamloops, B.C. The BC RCMP Southeast District Major Crime Unit (SED MCU) continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding Mr. Dhinsa’s death.

“This homicide was a senseless act of violence, and the investigation remains a priority for the SED MCU.  It is important to the police, the administration of Justice, and for the public at large, that the person or persons responsible for this death be held accountable. Solving this homicide is also of critical importance for Mr. Dhinsa’s family to have closure,” said SED MCU Unit Commander, Staff Sergeant Jason Smart.

Investigators are requesting that anyone with information about Mr. Dhinsa’s death, or anyone who had dealings with Mr. Dhinsa, or knowledge of his activities or whereabouts during January of 2022, to please contact the SED MCU information line at 1-877-987-8477.
