Crime Reduction Unit removes guns from streets

The Kamloops RCMP Detachment Crime Reduction Unit has successfully removed nearly twenty firearms from the community following a targeted investigation.
An investigation that started on January 8, 2026, with a traffic stop, led police to execute a search warrant on February 3, 2026, in the 200 -block of Tamarack Avenue and seize property.
During the search, officers seized:
- 19 firearms
- A significant quantity of ammunition
- Illegal drugs
- Undisclosed amount of Canadian currency
“Our Crime Reduction Unit continues to interrupt and supress crime in our community,” said Sergeant Jason Pole, in charge of the Kamloops RCMP Detachment Crime Reduction Unit. “By removing guns from the streets, we are taking proactive steps to reduce the potential for violent crime and enhance public safety.”
One man allegedly associated to the property was arrested prior to the search warrant being executed. He has since been released with charge recommendations anticipated as the investigation continues.
