Between January 12, and January 16, 2026, the Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit (CFSEU) – Uniform Gang Enforcement Team (UGET) was in Kelowna, working alongside local officers to identify and remove drugs and firearms from the streets of the City of Kelowna. UGET members partnered with officers from the Kelowna Detachment and across the Okanagan region to deliver specialized training aimed at strengthening investigative capacity, including tactics for the interdiction of weapons, firearms, and drugs from repeat violent offenders.

The multi‑day training resulted in over twenty new investigations being initiated, twenty‑eight arrests, the seizure of more than twenty weapons, including one carbine replica, a significant quantity of drugs, and approximately $5,000 in cash.

“We continue to target individuals within our community who are involved in organized crime and to remove weapons and toxic drugs from our streets. Through our ongoing collaborations with UGET, we remain committed to disrupting criminal activity and enhancing community safety,” says Sergeant Scott Powrie of the Kelowna RCMP Crime Reduction Unit.
